USS Otter DE 210

July 8, 1999

Dear Shipmates,

Hank McGinnis, our interim skipper, has turned over the reins to Cal Sustachek who will be appointing several committees for our reunion in Kissimmee, Florida (Orlando) next October. Please give him your fullest cooperation.

I have enclosed copies of the reservation form and a listing of the proposed tours for your information. Sorry for the small print, but we had to reduce the originals to letter size. I contacted Ralph Freese, Executive Director or D.E.S.A. and he advised that it is not necessary to be a member of D.E.S.A. to use this form, but it must be postmarked no later than September 17, 1999 and sent to D.E.S.A. in Deland, Florida. If you have any questions feel free to write, call or e-mail me and I will try to answer you. Also, the sooner you register the better chance we have of getting a meeting room for our annual meeting. Reservations for the tours must be sent to the address at the bottom of the tour page prior to October 1, 1999.

Our deepest sympathy to the family of Walter Knollinger who passed away earlier this year. Please add his name to your "TAPS" list. Dan Strate advised that his area code has been changed to 231. Jerry Hammon is still having severe problems with his back. After two surgeries this year, he still has hopes of making our reunion in October. He also suggested that anyone with an e-mail address send it to me so I can publish them in the next newsletter. My e-mail address is dumja@webtv.net.

For those of you who are not members of D.E.S.A. and would like to join, let me know and I will send you an application. That’s all for now. I will try to get at least one more newsletter out before October.

Smooth Sailing,

Chuck Frugoli
